Hawkinsara Koolau Sunset ‘Hawaii’

It’s not that I’m jaded by all the beautiful orchids I see, or that come and go through the greenhouse, it’s just that with my limited amount of space, I have to be careful about collecting too many beauties for my own collection!

 

Hawkinsara Koolau Sunset ‘Hawaii’ was destined for my collection the instant I walked into the room and saw it.   Beautifully grown by a member of the Orchid Hobbiests of Delmarva, it had the most incredible rich deep velvety maroon flowers I have ever seen.    This picture does not do it justice in the least.. It’s really that incredible!

 

I came home from the OHD meeting, found a source and immediately ordered 10!
